Sophie learned to climb steps last weekend. Now that's all she wants to do. She's driving us crazy with heading straight towards the steps about a hundred times a day. We are definitely in chasing mode now. She can climb up them, but after a few steps, she stands upright, then falls backwards. If someone wasn't right behind her, she'd really get hurt.
You're never going to guess what she did tonight! I still can't believe it myself. I was changing her into her jammies, and I let her just lay on an open diaper while I gave her medicine and put her lotion on. She peed a little during this "airing out" time. So I cleaned her up, then decided maybe I'd put her on her tiny little potty chair to see if she'd pee some more. I've been putting her on her potty chair occasionally after her bath and trying to keep her there by reading her books. She seems a little scared of it and doesn't like to stay there long. Well, I got her to stay there for a few minutes tonight. And when I got her off, she had peed in her potty!!! We made a really big deal of it, and she was grinning from ear to ear. My girl peed in her potty at one year and two weeks old. She's a genius; I can tell already.
