One thing he does that thrills everyone in the family is push Sophie up and down the block. She LOVES stroller rides and nags for them by grunting and pointing at the door, then grunting and pointing at the stroller once we get into the garage. He has become pretty handy at maneuvering the stroller and seems so big pushing her around.
He has also been giving me spontaneous hugs and "I love you"'s. He wrote me a card for Mother's Day that listed why he was so lucky to have me as a mom. It was very sweet.
Peyton willingly was caged into Sophie's room with her on Saturday while I did some organizing. He played all of her toys with her and tried desperately to keep her entertained and out of my hair for as long as possible. I put the gate up to keep her contained, so Peyton was locked in as well.
When I was tearing through every storage nook and cranny in the house, I came up with a mostly-empty sketch book and asked Peyton if he'd like to have it for his cartoon-drawing. He took me up on it, but figured it was to be only used for sketches. He headed out back to sketch the house, the pool, and the playhouse. Very funny stuff- I will see if I can get him to let me scan one of his sketches and add them to this post later.
Edited to add: Peyton's sketch of the backyard, featuring "Hooter," our pool owl.
